I want to know about the differences of a Tool to a Subagent with claude or claude code. From there I want to provide observability for token usage and come up with some scheme to sniff out inefficiencies. Going from there the tooling should establish a baseline of complexity (token and time based) for common tasks and establish upper bounds to keep the workflow from breaking good habits. This should lead to good habits accumulating over time as they are discovered somewhat randomly. It also unlocks the path to conscious data driven optimization.

This is about continous improvement of our workflow practice.

We should also assess how many decisions I need to take for which scopes of tasks. This will be a very interesting area to build up expertise in.
